About the Role
Our client is looking for technically strong, business-oriented engineers who can combine hands-on software development with customer-facing responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, AI Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or Software Engineering on AI-based products.
Beyond technical expertise, the client is particularly interested in individuals who understand product discovery, enjoy interacting with customers, and can translate complex technical solutions into measurable business value.
This is not a traditional Data Scientist or Software Engineer position. It requires someone who can work directly with customers, understand their operational challenges, develop and deploy technical solutions, and demonstrate the resulting business impact.
Salary Range: 110kCAD-140kCAD + 30kCAD de variable max.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Own the solution. Drive the impact. Close the gap.
You will be the key link between our technology and our clients, dedicated to the successful deployment of our AI solutions. You will guide customers from the pre-sales phase through to full-scale deployment, ensuring our solutions exceed expectations.
1) Lead end-to-end Implementation Projects (POCs): Drive the entire client Implementation Project process to maximize conversion rates. You will ensure technical execution is flawless by directly integrating new data sources, optimizing data flows, and fine-tuning algorithms to match specific client realities.
2) Engineer for scale and reliability: This is a hands-on role. You will write code on the data engineering side—building pipelines and optimizing data flows—to ensure our solution is robust and scalable for real-world production.
3) Contribute across the stack: Be on the front line of feature development. You will contribute directly to our codebase—from backend logic to frontend interfaces—building and refining features that solve immediate customer problems. Creating reusable assets (workflows, templates) to accelerate future deployments.
4) Bridge Tech and Sales: Collaborate hand-in-hand with the Sales team to translate complex client needs into technical reality, acting as the technical expert to help close opportunities faster.
4) Master the ROI: Own the business impact. You will monitor critical KPIs (margin, shrinkage reduction, service rate) to prove tangible value and demonstrate ROI in real-time.
5)Drive Product Evolution: You have the freedom to explore. Use your field insights to spot opportunities for new products, experiment with innovative AI capabilities, and directly influence the company’s product roadmap.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a technical Individual Contributor (Data Scientist or Data Engineer) on AI-based products
Proven track record of deploying ML/AI solutions in production environments for clients
Business acumen: understand ROI, margins, and P&L; able to translate complex tech into financial impact for C-level audiences
Excellent communication skills to explain technical value to varied audiences (CEOs, CTOs, Supply Chain Directors)
Candidates with
Fluent in both English and French
"Do-what-it-takes" attitude, fully oriented towards impact and total ownership
Bonus: experience in deploying Implementation Projects/pilots with client relationship management
Bonus: previous roles as Customer Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Product Manager
Bonus: strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Retail, or Logistics optimization
Bonus: contributions to open-source projects in the ML/Data Science space
Educational Background
Candidates should ideally have a Master's degree (Bac+5) in one of the following areas:
Computer Science.
Software Engineering.
Data Science.
Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
Engineering.
Business or Management, combined with a strong technical background.
The client particularly values candidates with a combination of engineering and business education.
Graduates from leading engineering and business schools are preferred, particularly candidates from top-tier institutions.
